Elizabeth's a sorority girl - Day One hundred seven - April 16, 2012

I received a text message from our daughter, Elizabeth, today along with a copy of her certificate indicating that she is now a part of the International English Honors Society Sigma Tau Delta sorority at Columbia College.  I told her to send it to my email address so I could use it as my photo of the day :)  Even though I didn't take it, I knew this would be a great way to show her how very proud of her and know that she will be an awesome teacher in the coming future (she is studying to become a high school English Teacher) and has been student teaching this semester.  She asked me in one message, "who would have thought I'd be in an honors society?"  I told her that me and her daddy knew it, because she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to and this is proof positive that she can.  Elizabeth, we are very proud of you and love you dearly.

Keep an eye out please - Day One hundred six - April 15, 2012

My great friend Krystal  placed something on facebook tonight that I had to share - it was asking for people to "Look twice!!! If 4 bikes pass you, keep in mind there may be 5 in the group!!!"  I love this because typically when Jim and I go on a long trip, there are usually 5 bikes in our group and sometimes 6.  We noticed when we were out today, that since the weather has been so nice, motorcyclists are coming out in droves and after seeing this, thought I would post our wonderful Goldwing for today's photo (Jim had just finished polishing it, but he wouldn't let me get a picture of him along side).

Grill cover - Day One hundred five - April 14, 2012

Today was a lazy day for Jim and I (Patrick is out of town with Jared and Jim isn't feeling well, so I made sure he didn't get out and work in the yard or anything).  We went down to Lowe's to walk around a bit to get an idea of what kind of projects we wanted to do in the coming months (I believe I found some great shelving & cabinets to put into my craft room - woo-hoo).  Jim has been wanting to get a grill cover forever and we seem to always forget when we are there, so when we saw this one, said, let's grab it, so we did.  Jim has also said, "it's the little things that makes a man happy :)"  He was very happy when we got home and put the new grill cover on.

Dad's brilliant idea - Day One hundred four - April 13, 2012

My father-in-law was such a creative man; he was always coming up with ways of taking something unusual and making it usable.  Well, for many years, dad taught painting and when we lived in Charleston, he bought the trailer portion of an 18-wheeler truck and made it into his studio and even had an office in the back end of it - it was brilliant.  When we moved to Gilbert, he still took that trailer and made it useful by making it into a shed/barn (I'll post a picture of that soon).  This is where we keep our motorcycle, tools, Christmas decorations and stuff like that (he even had room to park his fire-truck under the carport when he had it - this place is huge).  Jim had to head up that way tonight, so I walked along and saw this neat sign that was on the trailer part of the shed and thought it was interesting.

Fern garden - Day One hundred three - April 12, 2012

Every spring, the ferns in our woods blossom and they are always so beautiful.  I love ferns and get as many as I can this time of year to put throughout the house, but there is just something about these ferns that tell us that spring has finally arrived.

Rocks - Day One hundred two - April 11, 2012

Okay, so I know this is a picture of rocks, but I'm trying to get a little creative here :)  It also allowed me to practice using Photoshop 10 Elements (that program still gives me a fit) so it was a good thing.

Shadow - Day One hundred one - April 10, 2012

The other day, I took a picture of the fence down our driveway, so today, as we were heading out, saw the shadows of that fence and took a quick picture (this is from my cell phone since I was driving instead of walking this time).  I love how the shadows are curved.

Me & Jim - Day One hundred - April 9, 2012

I was cleaning up my photos this past weekend and found this photo of me and Jim when we went on a motorcycle trip to Gatlinburg a few years back, so I thought it would make a great 100 day photo (I know I didn't take it that day, but ...)  I'm not very good at getting photos with the camera in front of me, but hey, I can always give it a try :)  This sure does show you that we were having a good time and that Jim is a sport to let me get a picture of him - he's like me, not a fan of having our pictures taken.  I just noticed that you can see my arm in the reflection of Jim's glasses - how neat :)

Pippi Longstocking tree - Day Ninety-nine - April 8, 2012

I am so behind on my Twenty-twelve photos, but hopefully this week will allow me to stay on track :)  When we were walking last week, I was taking notice of how the branches of some of our trees looked very different.  When I saw this one, it reminded me so much of Pippi Longstocking's hair, I just had to get a picture of it.  I told Patrick this and he just looked at me like, who is that :)  Well, I'm going to the library this week to see if I can find the movie for him to watch so he will understand who I am talking about.

Floppy ears - Day Ninety-eight - April 7, 2012

Zoe has been having a blast now that spring has come.  She has been chasing squirrels and birds like crazy :)  She was in front of this morning (we are having our roof redone, so we had to get out for a little while before my head started to explode) and the next thing we knew, off she went chasing after something :)  I had my camera on sports mode (love it) and was really hoping to get her jumping like a kangaroo, but since I didn't, thought I would show you her floppy ears.  She didn't catch whatever it was she was chasing, but it sure was fun watching her.

Putting on our walking shoes - Day Ninety-seven - April 6, 2012

I have been wanting to do this for a while now and finally did it :)  These are mine and Patrick's shoe tracks from one of our walks.  I have been wanting to get a picture of Patrick's shoes as he walks in front of me, but haven't been successful; however, I'm going to keep trying.   The sad part about this picture is actually seeing how big Patrick's feet are getting, which is telling me that, yes, our youngest boy is getting older (my shoe is on the left).  Last week I took my camera out with us and made a decision to take it with me at least once a week because there is too much to see not too.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get one of those shoes next week.

Moss waterfall - Day Ninety-six - April 5, 2012

Patrick saw a patch of moss and said, "look momma, there's a moss waterfall" so of course, I had to oblige him and take a picture of it :)  I didn't get a good picture of the whole waterfall, but this came out pretty good.

Fence - Day Ninety-five - April 4, 2012

Today I told Patrick that we were going on more of a leisure walk than an exercise one because I wanted to take my camera with me to get some pictures of things I have been seeing along the way since spring has sprung.  Even though this isn't really springy, I liked it so thought I would share.  I just love taking photos from different angles; to me, it allows you to see it from every aspect.

Beautiful butterfly - Day Ninety-four - April 3, 2012

Patrick and I watched this butterfly for a while after our walk last night so I was happy when I got a nice picture of it.  It was amazing to watch because it was walking around like it was posing for my picture - Patrick got a kick out of it :)

Good morning sunshine - Day Ninety-three - April 2, 2012

Good morning (well, it's now good evening), but this is what greeted me on the way into work this morning.  Beauty !!!

Not sure - Ninety-two - April 1, 2012

I went up to see my mother-in-law yesterday with Patrick and I took my camera with me.  On the way back home, we saw these plants but I don't know what they are.  I thought they were pretty.
